Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address, name, username, profile settings, native language, target languages, and language levels. If you create or join a session, we may collect room participation, answers, scores, progress, lesson selections, and related gameplay activity.

We also collect technical information needed to run and protect Yolango, including device and browser details, IP address, log data, approximate location derived from network information, cookies or similar identifiers, and security challenge results.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide Yolango, sign users in, operate live rooms, personalize language practice, measure progress, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, improve the product, communicate with users, and comply with legal obligations.

We may use analytics tools to understand usage patterns, product performance, feature adoption, and errors. Analytics may involve cookies or similar identifiers, but we use them to improve Yolango and operate the service.

Advertising and Analytics

Yolango may use analytics, measurement, and advertising services. Those services may process limited identifiers, device information, event data, and usage information so we can understand our audience, measure campaigns, or show more relevant promotions.

We do not sell access to a user's personal information. Some privacy laws define certain advertising or cross-context tracking as "sharing" or as a "sale" even when no money is exchanged. If we use advertising technology in a way that creates those rights, we will provide any required notices and opt-out controls.

How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us host Yolango, send login emails, provide analytics, protect against abuse, generate or deliver learning content, and support product operations. These providers are allowed to use the information only to provide services to Yolango or as otherwise permitted by law.

We may also share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, during a business transaction such as a merger or asset transfer, or with your direction or consent.

Classrooms, Hosts, and Participants

Hosts may see session information needed to run a room, such as participant names, progress, answer status, results, and aggregate patterns. Yolango is designed to keep practice low-stakes, and some room experiences may show aggregate or anonymized responses rather than individual answers.

If a school, employer, club, or other organization provides access to Yolango, that organization may have its own policies and may control how its members use the service.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Yolango, support users, maintain records, improve the service, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations. We may keep aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies a user.

Your Choices

You can delete your account from your profile. You can also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to opt out of certain processing, restrict use of sensitive information, or appeal a privacy decision.

Browser controls may let you limit cookies or other local storage. Some Yolango features may not work correctly if those controls block required authentication, security, or session functionality.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Yolango is not intended for children to use without appropriate permission from a parent, guardian, school, or organization. If you believe a child provided personal information without required permission, please contact us so we can review the request.

Changes

We may update this policy as Yolango changes. When we make material updates, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
